Transportation Engineering Group Research

The Transportation Group Research does not only consist of lecturers in the field of civil engineering, but synergizes the study programs at ITK whose research focus is in the field of transportation, including Mathematics, Urban Regional Planning. Collaboration from several fields of science that has a focus on transportation is expected to provide more optimal results on the results of transportation research produced. For now, the scope of this Group Research is the development of urban transportation from several aspects, including aspects of urban development, infrastructure, public transportation, traffic, interactions between activity centers, to modeling and forecasting the development of urban transportation. This Group Research also supports ITK's Leading Research in the SMART CITY field. It is hoped that this group research will produce scientific works that can be utilized by relevant stakeholders so as to create harmonization between universities and related stakeholders.

Construction Management Group Research

Construction Management Group Research is a research group for Civil Engineering lecturers in the fields of Project Management and Construction Management. Activities in the field of research include Sustainable Construction research which supports ITK's leading research in the fields of Energy, Food-Agriculture, Maritime Affairs, and Smart City. This research group has also collaborated with stakeholders in the form of joint research. One of the research focuses in Construction Management related to Waste Management has been ongoing since 2017 with related parties.

Structural Engineering Group Research

Structural engineering group research includes several researches that support leading research institutions including Smart City and Energy. The research areas that are explored include, Structural Planning, Structural Analysis, Wooden Structures, Steel Structures and Concrete Structures. The various research themes are expected to provide benefits with a broad scope and can be implemented in accordance with the expected targets.

Geotechnical Group Research

The Geotechnical Group Research consists of lecturers from the Civil Engineering Study Program at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology with a focus on research in fields related to geotechnical engineering, including analytical and numerical modelling, experimental simulations and field methods to study soil mechanics, engineering geology, foundation engineering, and reinforcement systems. soil. All lecturers in the geotechnical research group are members of the Indonesian Soil Engineers Association (HATTI) and are active in publishing scientific works related to the development of geotechnical science, especially in supporting the flagship research focus of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology.

Coastal and River Dinamics Laboratory

Research Group of Water Resources and Resources Engineering is a group formed and established by lecturers of Civil Engineering Study Program in the field of Hydrotechnics. All members of this group are also administrators of an organization at the national level, namely the Association of Indonesian Hydraulic Engineers (HATHI) East Kalimantan branch. Synergy and collaboration in the field of research and community service in this group are going well, this is indicated by the funding of several research titles, both in the form of internal campus grants and national scale grants. Currently, the research scope of this group is hydrology, river and coastal engineering, flood control and also supports ITK's leading research in the fields of Energy, Food-Agriculture, Maritime Affairs, and Smart City. This research group has also established good cooperation with the Government, Private Parties, and other Universities in the form of joint research and community service. In the future, it is hoped that this research group will be able to increase its role and function in producing scientific works that can be utilized by relevant stakeholders.
